How to export your journey log

Everything Journey Logster shows you comes from one file: the CSV your Polestar's JourneyLog app can export. Here is how to get it, and what to do with it.

Before you start

Polestar provides the ability to track your journeys through the JourneyLog app that you can install on your Polestar car's infotainment system. It is available on the Play Store as Journey Log. After installation, you need to log in with your Polestar account. From then on, the app will capture all your trips and store them.

The JourneyLog app provides basic functions to view your journeys, and a basic export function to an email address. However, the app lacks any advanced data analysis and reporting functionality. Journey Logster is there to help you out — the only thing you have to do is to export your journeys in your Polestar, and import them into Journey Logster.

Export from the car

  1. Open the JourneyLog app in your Polestar.

  2. Select Export Trips. It's an icon that looks like a square with an arrow pointing out.

  3. Do not set any filters on categories or start and end dates — Journey Logster works best with your full history.

  4. If successful, you will get an email from Journey Log (no-reply@polestar.com) to the email address associated with your Polestar account. This email has two attachments: an XLSX file for Excel, and a simple CSV file.

Journey Logster uses the CSV attachment. The XLSX one is not needed.

Import into Journey Logster

  1. From that email, download the CSV file onto your computer or smartphone.

  2. Open Journey Logster, and when prompted to do so, upload that very same file.

To get the newest trips, you simply repeat these steps whenever you need the latest trips available. A fresh import replaces the previous data — you always keep one complete picture rather than a pile of partial exports.
